What is Paracord?
Originally used as the suspension lines for
parachutes in the US during World War II, 550
paracord, also known as parachute cord, has now
become a general-purposed utility cord that
everyone may find useful.
Its outer sheath has 32 interwoven strands,
whereas the interior hosts 7 inner two-ply yarns.
This construction gives the cord a smooth texture
and high breaking strength of 550lb (~250kg).
These qualities have made the paracord the top
choice of material to make EDC (Everyday-carry)
accessories such as bracelet, waist belt and
lanyard.
Unlimited uses of paracord:
Crafting: Paracord bracelet, wrist band, waist
belt, necklace, keychains, guitar sling, camera
straps, pet collar, pet leash, hammock,
dreamcatchers, can holder, monkey's fists and
many more!
EDC (Everyday-carry): Lanyards or handle wrap for
tools such as multi-tool, knife, torch light and
keys.
Emergency uses: Replace broken zipper pull,
shoe-laces, bra strap and etc. Inner thread can be
used as sewing thread, fishing line (or make a
fishing net with it), clothes line, and even
dental floss.
Survival in the wild: Camping, building traps and
snares, tourniquet to stop bleeding, rescue line,
bow string, bear bag.
Tell us more: The usage of paracord is basically

How to identify good and bad quality paracord?
1. Quality - The cross-section area of good
quality paracord is round whereas that of a poor
quality paracord is flat.
2. Material - Traditional paracord is 100% made of
nylon, while others may be made of other
materials.
3. Burn test - Good quality paracord should burn
slowly, whereas others will burn quicker when
contacted with flames, and its smoke would smell
similar to burned plastic.
4. Strength - Poor quality paracord would
definitely struggle to withstand 550lbs of weight.
5. Price - If the price is too good to be true,
beware!
