RM 3 500 - 4 000 per month
Greet patrons as they arrive at the restaurant or bar, and lead them to vacant tables and booths.
• Ensure that hosts are available to provide customers with information on the menu and menu items.
• Pour water in glasses and take and deliver orders for beverages and starter items.
• Follow up with kitchen staff members to ensure that all orders are expedited and delivered to patrons’ tables on time.
• Push trolley bins through restaurant areas, picking up soiled dishes and linen and replacing them with clean ones.
• Ensure that glasses and supplies such as condiments and napkins are made available at service stations.
• Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of the dining floor, by ensuring that custodial staff is available during operative hours.
• Respond to patrons’ questions regarding menu items and ingredients, by following set script and guidelines.
• Assist servers in delivering large orders to patrons’ tables, ensuring that timeliness is kept in mind.
• Oversee tableware and supplies inventory and ensure that any low stock situations are immediately communicated to the procurement manager.
• Pick up bills/checks from the cash counter and assist in processing cash and credit/debit card payments, and tendering change.
Clean and sanitize dishes, cookware, and utensils
Clean and sanitize food preparation work stations
Assist in the food preparation process by cutting, chopping, slicing, and washing vegetables, meats, and other ingredients
Follow all food health and safety requirements
Assist with the unloading of deliveries and their proper storage
Communicate kitchen needs to supervisors
Interact with customers as needed
Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, artisan and speciality beverages.
Cleaning and sanitising work areas, utensils and equipment
Cleaning service and seating areas
Describing menu items and suggesting products to customers
Servicing customers and taking orders
Ordering, receiving and distributing stock supplies
Receiving and processing customer payments
Sound knowledge of proper food handling procedures. The ability to stand for extended periods. Strong problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
