Why Kia Grand Carnival?

1) Reliable 2.2 diesel engine. The 2.2 CRDi here is Hyundai-Kia's D4HB unit, the same engine you'll find in the Santa Fe, Sorento and Palisade. It's been in production since 2009, so it's a well-proven design with no major weak points — reviewers rate it as having fairly good reliability with no serious design flaws. It puts out 200 PS and 441 Nm of torque, which is what you want in a vehicle this size.

2) Genuinely practical. Eight seats, powered sliding doors on both sides, sunshade blinds for the second and third rows, and three ISOFIX points (two on the middle row, one on the last row). Boot space is still usable even with all three rows up.
