This 45GS represents the pinnacle of Seiko’s late-60s mechanical watchmaking. Its sharp, faceted case embodies Tanaka’s Grammar of Design, influencing all later GS models.
The lion medallion caseback symbolized Grand Seiko’s chronometer ambitions at the time. The 36,000 bph calibre was among the highest frequency movements globally in 1968. Today, it’s prized as a foundation piece for modern Hi-Beat Grand Seikos.
