Antique Brass Gong

An antique brass gong originating from Southeast Asia, possibly Borneo or Brunei, often featuring intricate carvings of animals, flowers or mythical figures like dragons.

These instruments, specifically "bossed" or "nipple" gongs with a raised centre knob, are often used in traditional musical ensembles or as status symbols.

The gong is typically played by being struck with a padded mallet.

This gong has some wear and tear on a small section of the side from ageing.
