Fly rod 4 wt, 4 piece, 9ft Made in USA Cabelas SL

Cabelas SL fly rod - 4 piece, 4wt, 9ft.
Custom made from Cabelas SL fly rod blank. Blank is made in USA. At the time the SL series was the top of the range Cabelas fly rod series, retailing for over USD200.

This rod has a progressive action. This means it has a soft tip for delicate presentation and butt power that still can punch out the line when needed. This 4 wt rod is suitable for fishes like sikang, peacock bass and small sebarau.
The blank is a pleasing matt black finish that will flash when casting. Reflective flashes will spook the fish.
The guides are unique black chromed single foot wire guides and the stripper guides are black framed Fuji SiC.
This rod was custom made with an extra stripper guide just above the first stripper guide to eliminate line slap when shooting line to enable better casting distance. This is termed "collection stripper".
The cork handle is custom made to a full wells shape with 3 black foam rings for a pleasant aesthetic look.
The reel seat is a uplocking black fuji reel seat which is preferable to the traditional aluminium reel seat. The fuji reel seat locking hoods does not scratch and damage the fly reel feet and securely locks the reel, unlike traditional aluminium reel seats.
This rod has been hardly used as I very very rarely fish 4wt line.
