Gerber Applegate Fairbairn (FPR 1996)

A rare vintage piece from Gerber USA, the Applegate Fairbairn Combat Folder. Enthusiasts will know all about its history and this is their first collaboration, the 1996 First Production Run Combat Folder.
It features a bead blast finish, the blade is approximately 4-7/16” and overall length is approximately 10”. The steel is somewhat of a mystery as it is only mentioned as ‘stainless steel’ but quite a few forums says that it is ATS-34. It has a combo edge, spear point, dual thumb stud opening with a false edge. The handle material is hardened glass and silicon nylon with a lanyard hole.
This is a new item and it comes together with a ballistic pouch but unfortunately NO BOX (due to a ‘shipping mishandling’).
To the best of my knowledge, this is one of two remaining pieces that reached our shores and this is a real gem for both collectors and war historians.
