Healthcare Assistant

The Healthcare Assistant supports patients with mental health conditions in a safe, respectful, and caring environment. The role includes assisting patients with daily activities, monitoring their well-being, supporting rehabilitation programmes, and helping the healthcare team provide quality care.

Main Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with personal hygiene, meals, medication routines, and daily activities.
- Observe patients’ behaviour, mood, and physical condition, and report any concerns to the nurse or manager.
- Support patients during therapy, recreational activities, and rehabilitation programmes.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
- Communicate calmly and respectfully with patients, family members, and healthcare professionals.
- Assist in managing challenging behaviour and emergency situations according to the centre’s procedures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and complete basic documentation when required.
- Encourage patients to develop independence, social skills, and healthy daily routines.
