Collision Course is a groundbreaking collaborative mash-up EP released on November 30, 2004, that masterfully redefines cross-genre innovation by seamlessly weaving together the distinct musical identities of hip-hop icon Jay-Z and alternative rock giants Linkin Park. Inspired by the underground mash-up culture of the era, the six-track project serves as the studio companion to an MTV Ultimate Mash-Ups special, rearranging classic tracks from Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory and Meteora alongside staples from Jay-Z's legendary discography. Celebrated for its explosive energy and meticulous production overseen by Mike Shinoda, the album became a massive commercial and critical triumph, making history as only the second mash-up project to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and spawning the Grammy-winning, multi-platinum global anthem "Numb/Encore".
