The Olympus E-510  is a 10-megapixel digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) camera with Original LENS.

Built for the hobbyist and prosumer market, it remains notable for introducing sensor-shift image stabilization and a functional Live View LCD system to Olympus's early Four Thirds system lineup.

    Key Specifications
    • Sensor: 10.0 Megapixel Live MOS sensor (17.3 × 13.0 mm).
    • Lens Mount: Four Thirds System with a 2x focal length crop factor.
    • Image Stabilization: Built-in mechanical sensor-shift system.
    • Display: 2.5-inch fixed LCD panel (230,000 dots) supporting Live View.
    • ISO Range: 100 to 1600.
    • Burst Rate: 3.0 frames per second (up to 7 RAW frames).
    • Storage: Dual slots accommodating CompactFlash (CF) and xD-Picture Cards.
    • Dust Reduction: SuperSonic Wave Filter (SSWF) anti-dust system. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

    Defining Features
    • In-Body Image Stabilization: Unlike competitors of its era that relied on optically stabilized lenses, the E-510 stabilizes the sensor directly. This grants stabilization to any mounted Four Thirds lens. [1]
    • Early Live View Implementation: Pressing the monitor button flips the mirror lockup open to display a live image feed with an available live histogram overlay. However, the phase-detect autofocus system is bypassed during Live View; users must press the AEL/AFL button to drop the mirror down momentarily to lock focus. [1]
    • Color and Image Quality: The TruePic III processor yields highly accurate, natural color saturation profiles rather than heavily punched consumer tones. Noise control is optimal at or below ISO 400, but gets noticeably soft and grainy at ISO 800 and 1600. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
    • Ergonomics: Features a deeper, physical handgrip and more dedicated hardware buttons (ISO, White Balance, Metering) than its ultra-compact sibling, the E-410. [1, 2, 3]

    Pros
    • In-body stabilization: Sharpens handheld shots across all mounted lenses.
    • Excellent kit glass: The Zuiko 14-42mm and 40-150mm lenses are remarkably sharp for their price point.
    • Dust reduction: The supersonic wave filter keeps the sensor clean when changing lenses.
    • Ergonomics: Despite being compact, the deep grip makes it comfortable to hold.

In PRISTINE & EXCELLENT Condition with LENS.
