Job Description
We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our accounting firm. The successful candidate will assist in handling day-to-day accounting, payroll and compliance work for various clients and support the team in ensuring all work is completed accurately and on a timely basis, independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Bookkeeping
* Handle daily accounting and bookkeeping for clients.
* Record and maintain accounting transactions using SQL Accounting Software.
* Prepare and maintain full sets of accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliations, including finalising the accounts independently.
* Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and yearly accounts.
* Assist in the preparation of financial statements and accounting schedules.
* Assist in e-Invoice implementation and related matters.
* Liaise with clients to obtain accounting documents and information when required.
* Perform proper filing, scanning and maintenance of accounting records.
Payroll
* Process monthly payroll for clients using SQL Payroll Software.
* Prepare monthly payroll calculations, including salary, overtime, allowances, deductions and other payroll-related items.
* Prepare and maintain payroll records and reports.
* Assist with statutory payroll submissions and payments, including EPF/KWSP, SOCSO/PERKESO, EIS and PCB/MTD.
* Assist in the preparation of EA Forms and related annual payroll reporting.
* Liaise with clients to obtain monthly payroll information and verify payroll details.
Tax & SST
* Assist in preparing documents and schedules required for tax and audit purposes.
* Assist with SST preparation and submission to the relevant authorities.
* Assist in monitoring SST filing deadlines and maintaining proper SST records.
* Assist with other tax-related administrative and compliance matters as required.
General
* Attend to clients' accounting-related queries and follow up on outstanding information.
* Assist the team with audit and tax-related requirements.
* Perform data entry and other accounting-related administrative duties.
* Maintain confidentiality of clients' financial and business information.
* Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Requirements:
* SPM/Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
* 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience is preferred.
* Experience using SQL Accounting Software is an advantage.
* Experience using SQL Payroll Software will be an added advantage.
* Basic knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping and payroll.
* Knowledge of e-Invoice, SST and statutory payroll submissions will be an advantage.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
* Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Able to work independently as well as in a team.
* Responsible, willing to learn and able to meet deadlines.
* Able to travel independently
