Jumping between 1949 Shanghai and present-day Taipei, the 2009 CTS drama Letter 1949 unfolds a story of love, hate, and destiny that spans over three generations. Taking dual roles in two time periods, Queenie Dai (Bling Days) plays a Taiwanese journalist who leaves her true love behind in Shanghai in 1949, believing him to be dead because of the interference of a vengeful suitor. Sixty years later, she learns that her first love is still alive and travels to Shanghai with her granddaughter to find him, setting off a new tangle of romance and rivalry for their families. Lin Yo Wei (Justice For Love), Alien Huang (Pi Li MIT), and Hong Kong actor Hawick Lau co-star as Queenie Dai's romantic interests.
The two-disc soundtrack for Letter 1949 evokes both romance and turbulence with a mix of sweet waltzes, acoustic guitar, and nostalgic melodies. Disc 1 has 8 songs including Angel He's opening theme "New Moon - 2009" and the closing theme "Lotus Makeup" sung by One Million Star Season 4 contestant Sharon Lai. Leading lady Queenie Dai also sings the insert song "New Moon - 1949". Disc 2 contains 22 score tracks.
