STYLE NO. 8070: 1930s SPORT OXFORD
"1930s Sport Oxford" Style 8070 was inspired by Red Wing Oxford "Moc-Toe" design in 1920s. It features Black "Klondike" leather, Goodyear Welt construction and "Gro Cord King-B" soles with deeper lugs, mainly designed for sports such as hiking, golf and outdoor-oriented footwear.
THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE
"1930s Sport Oxford" is a reproduction of the most popular oxford from Red Wing before the WWII. This type of Oxford shoes existed from the mid 1920s till early 1940s. Red Wing first started using "Moc-Toe" on oxford shoes designs in the 1920s by making with "flat-box" to extend comfort under active foot-movement. Therefore, Red Wing named as "Sport Oxford" which suitable for outdoor uses and daily wear. These oxfords used Gro Cord "King-B" as their outsoles which weer newly developed in that era. It was poque-making sole (developed some decades earlier than Vibram Lug sole) with high grip performance in outdoor environment. This sole is now brought back under cooperation between Red Wing and Vibram USA, for latest “1930s Sport Oxford”.

The polished look and feel of the smooth-finished leather requires more specialized care and attention to keep it maintained.

It takes more than 230 steps to hand craft each pair of Red Wing Shoes but it only takes three steps to keep them clean, conditioned and protected.
1. CLEAN
Light Cleaning
Use warm water and a soft bristle brush to remove stuck-on dirt. Then use a clean, dry cloth to wipe away any remaining excess dirt.
Deep Cleaning
For heavily soiled areas, use a clean cloth or brush to apply Red Wing Shoes Leather Cleaner. Wipe the cleaner away with a damp cloth and allow the leather to dry.
2. CONDITION
Apply Red Wing Shoe Boot Cream with a clean, soft cloth. Shine the boot by brushing with a soft horse-hair brush.
3. PROTECT
Add extra protection to preserve your footwear. Red Wing Leather Protector provides an invisible shield from water, dirt, oil and mud. To extend the life of the boots, spray them with Red Wing Leather Protector before wearing them for the first time.
