An elegant and honest example of the 56GS line, produced in September 1970. This reference features a champagne dial, housed in a gold cap case. Inside ticks the Caliber 5645A, a 25-jewel automatic movement running at 28,800 bph — Seiko’s “Hi-Beat” standard of the era (not 36,000 bph; that spec was reserved for the 61GS).
The dial is clean and original, framed by a razor-sharp bezel with defined lugs and no loss to the gold cap. A preserved gold medallion caseback and matching black strap complete this understated but historically important GS.
