Grand Seiko 61GS Silver Dial 1968 37mm

1968 37mm Grand Seiko 61GS Silver Dial ref.6146-8000 Cal.6146A Hi-Beat 36000 Day-Date Automatic Watch Only

This Grand Seiko 61GS represents a remarkable chapter in Japanese watchmaking, introduced during the brand's pursuit of mechanical precision in the late 1960s. Its sharply faceted stainless steel case follows Grand Seiko's celebrated Grammar of Design, complemented by a silver sunburst dial, applied indices and the distinctive early-production GS and Grand Seiko insignia at 6 o'clock. Powered by the calibre 6146A Hi-Beat automatic movement operating at 36,000 vibrations per hour, it showcases the technical ambition that established Grand Seiko as a serious contender in precision watchmaking. Today, this early dial configuration offers collectors a particularly interesting piece of Grand Seiko history, combining timeless Japanese design with exceptional mechanical heritage.
