Aliens (1986) is a science fiction action thriller directed by James Cameron, starring Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley, the sole survivor of a previous alien encounter who is rescued after decades in hypersleep and persuaded to return to the distant colony world LV 426 with a unit of Colonial Marines to investigate a sudden loss of contact. Expecting a routine mission, the team including Corporal Hicks, Hudson, Vasquez, and the android Bishop instead discovers that the settlement has been overrun by a hive of deadly extraterrestrial creatures. When Ripley bonds with a lone child survivor named Newt, the operation becomes a desperate fight for survival against overwhelming odds and a monstrous Alien Queen, while corporate representative Burke’s hidden agenda adds human betrayal to the escalating horror. Blending intense combat, psychological tension, and maternal themes, the film explores courage, trauma, and survival under extreme terror while expanding the scale and mythology of the original story.
