In 2025, after 42 years its price would have valued more on the basis of RM500 increment per decade.
(with ‘大日本郵便’ Dai [Grand] Nippon Yubin [Postage] being rarer, is considered fair).
RM1,600 (with ‘Malaya BMA’ overprinting) – Valued by ‘Standard Catalogue of Malaysia Singapore Brunei’ (29th Edition published in 1983) based on auction &/or transaction done.
Note:
1945-1945 Originally printed as a Malaya Straits Settlements stamp by the British. Prepared for use but not issued. Note: Somehow during the Japanese Occupation of Malaya, they had made used of this 8¢ value stamp by overprinting with the word ‘大日本郵便’(Dai [Grand] Nippon Yubin [Postage]) in Red Ink. In itself the word, ‘日’ is of a smaller point size print than the other characters which is a printing error. This stamp is considered a very rare piece of history as it has survived the war, and has become a memento of the past, is favourably sought after by most collectors.
