The Red Wing Shoes Iron Ranger 8083 Hawthorne Muleskinner is a classic Red Wing Shoe and is made in Red Wing, Minnesota. The Iron Ranger 8083 is inspired by the Mesabi Iron Range in Northern Minnesota, a rugged area known for its iron mines. The men working in there were referred to as ‘Iron Rangers’, emphasising their adventurous mentality. The Iron Ranger is recognised by its double leather toecap to provide extra safety. The Iron Ranger has heel protection for better support and the Hawthorne Muleskinner leather ages beautifully. The Red Wing 8083 Iron Ranger has a Vibram 430 Mini Lug outsole which is flexible and oil resistant and comes with black taslan laces.

The Iron Ranger
The Iron Ranger was originally built for iron miners in the 1930s. In the decades since, it has grown indispensable for owners from all walks of life thanks to its iconic style and longevity. The six-inch boot’s signature feature is a leather toe cap that is as distinctive as it is durable. Each pair develops a personalized fit and custom comfort over time thanks to leather insoles and a cork midsole that form to feet. The boots are built with a Goodyear welt and Puritan triple-stitch construction, and brass speed hooks provide precision lacing and a visual hit of hardware. The Iron Ranger is anchored with a Vibram® 430 Mini-lug outsole.
FIT INFORMATION
A new pair of Red Wing Heritage footwear should fit comfortably tight on the foot, with enough room to freely wiggle toes. As you wear the footwear, the full grain leather upper, insole, and cork midsole will mold to your feet, creating an increasingly personalized fit over time. We recommend trying on footwear in store to ensure proper fit.

Roughout/Nubuck Leather Care
Roughout and Nubuck leather is created using a reverse-suede technique. Many tanneries split and thin hides to create suede, but our tannery simply uses the other side of the hide. This allows us to create beautiful roughout and nubuck leather with no loss of durability. Actively maintaining leather is the most effective way to ensure integrity and longevity. Clean
Use the Cleaner Bar from the Roughout/Nubuck Cleaner Kit on soiled area of footwear. If stain persists, wet Cleaner Bar and repeat. Allow leather to dry and use the Bristle Brush to restore the leather’s nap.
Condition
Lightly apply Mink Oil to Muleskinner Leather. Mink Oil will darken leather and should only be used sparingly. Allow the leather to dry. All other Roughout and Nubuck leathers do not require conditioning.
Protect
Lightly mist footwear with Leather Protector six to eight inches away from the leather in a sweeping motion. Leather Protector provides a shield against dirt and moisture. It will not darken footwear.
