British Military Administration (BMA) Malaya
i) The ‘BMA’ overprinting (either in black or red ink) was done by the British colonial master after the surrender of the Japanese in 1945. This is to re-establish and to resume the British Postal Service in Malaya.
Note the printing error of a prominent white stretch of non-printed area in this stamp other than the ‘BMA’ overprinting. With both rareness, it would have fetched even a higher value.
ii) In machine printing, when a finished product does not conform to the standard specifications, it is considered as reject. This rule does not apply to postal stamp printing. Errors do occur owing to the multiple processes during printing often due to human factor. Any stamps with printing error/s is considered rare.
