This rare 1960 edition of the BBGS Magazine (Volume 1, No. 11) serves as an authentic historical record of the prestigious Bukit Bintang Girls' School in Kuala Lumpur, published just three years after Malaya achieved Merdeka (Independence).
The volume features detailed school activity logs, updates on the school's historical expansion (such as the separation of the Primary and Secondary schools), lists of the school prefects, and extensively documents the school's vibrant sports culture with designated photographic plates for Form VA & VB class photos, sports day track relays, netball teams, school swimmers, and the senior badminton squad.
Originally established as the Chinese Girls' School in 1893 before moving to Jalan Bukit Bintang in 1930, the legendary school was eventually demolished in 2000, and its historic site is now occupied by the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur shopping mall. The school relocated to Taman Shamelin Perkasa in Cheras, where it was renamed SMK Seri Bintang Utara (SBU).
